Nandy Heule, MA, ABC
Nandy is a freelance writer and communications consultant who launched Heule Communications in 2004. Based in Toronto, she has successfully worked with Executive Directors, CEOs, Bay Street accountants, and aid workers in rural Africa.
She has a special interest in international development and community healthcare. Nandy has worked in these sectors as a board member, volunteer, employee and consultant for over 15 years.
Nandy launched her career as a staff reporter in daily news. She earned an MA at the Graduate School of Journalism (now Faculty of Information and Media Studies) at Western in London, Ont., and studied economics at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is accredited by the International Association of Business Communicators.
Nandy grew up in the Netherlands, studied and worked in America, and moved to Canada in 1984. She now lives with her husband in Toronto.
In 2006, Nandy became accredited by the International Association of Business Communicators. She has volunteered as a communications mentor, participated on Gold Quill and Canada Silver Leaf awards panels, and reviewed exams completed by accreditation candidates.
She is a member of the Canadian Association of International Development Practitioners (CAIDP-RPCDI).
During the 2015 Federal Election, Nandy talked to Canadian Press about politicians, selfies and social media strategy after posting some thoughts on this blog.
